memver is a personal gallery AI that helps you organize your photo library and find memories later. Because memver may process photos, places, people, conversations, and memory-related information, we aim to collect only what is necessary, keep you in control, and separate guesses from things you confirm.

This Privacy Policy applies to the memver website, beta waitlist, Apple TestFlight beta, and the memver beta app.

memver is a beta project operated by wondoll (Wonsok Choi).

1. Our principles

memver follows these principles:

  1. We do not start whole-library analysis unless you explicitly start it.
  2. In the beta version, we do not upload your original photos or videos to memver servers.
  3. Photo analysis starts on your device by default.
  4. memver does not auto-delete your photos.
  5. Inferred information is not treated as confirmed fact until you confirm it.
  6. People and face-related data are handled as sensitive. Raw face crops, face embeddings, and upper-body embeddings are not stored on our servers by default.
  7. We may use external AI providers, but during the beta we do not send original photos or videos to external AI providers.
  8. You can request deletion or opt out of beta emails at any time.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Beta waitlist

When you join the beta waitlist, we may collect:

InformationPurpose
Email addressManaging the beta waitlist, sending a TestFlight public link, and sending product updates
Signup timestampManaging signup records and preventing duplicate submissions
Language or regionSending the appropriate language version
Access logsSecurity, abuse prevention, and service reliability

We collect your email address only when you provide it.

2.2 Website usage

The memver website may be hosted on Vercel. As part of hosting and operating the website, Vercel or our hosting infrastructure may process IP address, browser information, device information, timestamps, and request logs.

We currently do not use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or ad network tracking.

If we later enable Vercel Web Analytics or a similar privacy-friendly analytics tool, we may process aggregated statistics such as page views, device type, browser type, and approximate region. We will not use this for advertising tracking.

3. Apple TestFlight beta

The memver beta may be distributed through an Apple TestFlight public link.

If you join through a public link, Apple may not display your name or email address to memver. However, Apple may collect and share certain TestFlight data with us, such as crash logs, usage information, device information, app version, OS version, language, and feedback.

Apple's privacy terms and TestFlight terms also apply to data processed through TestFlight.

4. Information processed in the memver beta app

If you grant photo access and start analysis in the app, memver may process the following categories of information:

CategoryExamplesProcessing
Original photos and videosPhotos and videos on your iPhoneNot uploaded to memver servers during beta
Media metadataMedia type, capture time, resolution, album hintsUsed for organization, search, and grouping
Metadata signalsTime hints, location hints, edit status, file propertiesUsed for organization, search, and grouping
On-device analysis resultsSimilarity signals, OCR text, cleanup candidates, event/place inferencesSome results may be stored on our servers
ConversationsSearch queries, cleanup requests, confirmation responsesUsed to provide the service and maintain your memory workspace
Confirmed informationPeople names, event names, place names, group names, notesMay be stored on our servers
Inferred informationEvent groups, place groups, cleanup candidates, search indexesMay be stored on our servers
Error and security logsApp errors, request status, abnormal access recordsUsed for reliability, security, and debugging

In the beta version, memver does not upload your original photos or videos to memver servers. However, conversations, information you confirm, text or metadata generated through on-device analysis, inferred results, and text-based indexes for search and organization may be stored on our servers.

5. Photos and videos

During the beta, memver does not upload your original photos or videos to our servers.

Photo analysis is performed on your device by default. This may include recent photo grouping, similarity detection, basic metadata analysis, OCR, and cleanup candidate generation.

The following data may be stored on our servers:

  • Conversations
  • People, places, events, groups, and notes you confirm
  • Text-based results generated from on-device analysis
  • Search and organization indexes
  • Inferred results that do not include original photos

We do not send original photos or videos to external AI providers unless you explicitly allow it.

6. People and face-related data

memver treats people and face-related data as sensitive.

During the beta, face detection, people grouping, and person-related embeddings are processed on your device by default.

memver does not store the following on its servers by default:

  • Raw face crops
  • Face embeddings
  • Upper-body embeddings
  • Person exemplar dictionaries
  • Automatic contact-based identity matching results

memver does not automatically assign real names to people. If memver finds photos that appear to contain the same person, that person's name is saved only if you confirm or enter it.

memver does not perform cross-user face matching or automatically infer sensitive relationships.

7. External AI providers

memver may use external AI providers to support conversation understanding, search explanations, organization assistance, and summarization.

During the beta, memver does not send original photos or videos to external AI providers.

External AI providers may process:

  • Your questions
  • Conversation text
  • Information you confirm
  • Text summaries generated from photo analysis
  • Inferred results that do not include original photos

In the future, if you select a specific photo and explicitly allow an advanced visual explanation feature, the selected photo or a reduced preview may be sent to an external AI provider. This will be presented with separate notice and consent.

8. How we use information

We use information to:

  1. Manage the beta waitlist
  2. Send TestFlight public links and product updates
  3. Provide photo organization, search, recall, and grouping features
  4. Suggest duplicate, similar, or cleanup candidate photos
  5. Reflect people, places, events, notes, and groups you confirm
  6. Provide conversational search and explanations

  8. Respond to user inquiries
  9. Prevent abuse
  10. Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your photos, face-related data, or conversations for advertising tracking.
